9 Secrets to Closing 9s (and 10s)    Compare

This is a 1 hour audio program made up from a free teleconference with Gambler answering some questions and giving some advice.

The call was set up to to promote PUA Training's Rapid Success Mastery package offer in June 2009 (a prelude offer to launch Pickup Mastery University).

The last 15 minutes of the call have Gambler explaining what the Rapid Success Mastery package includes and how to purchase it.

A Product Marketed as Something it Isn't

PUA Training has simply created a product name for this audio and repackaged it to sell it as a product in its own right. There is nothing wrong with selling your content like this, it is yours to do with what you want. The problem comes with how this is positioned as a product and what it contains.

First, the strangest thing about this product is that it actually has nothing to do with its title. There is no specific content related to 9s and 10s. I can only imagine that the title was just the coolest headline that PUA Training came up with to market the audio as a product as an after thought.

A more fitting title would have been "Answers to Common Questions Asked by Students" or even better "Common Questions from People that Have Read Gambler's Book 'The Natural Art of Seduction'".

Second, a lot of the audio actually contains marketing and promotional material for PUA Training and their Rapid Success Mastery offer. It's okay to include a little bit of marketing in products (e.g. info about other products etc.), most companies do it, but this is a different story.

Having got past this misleading marketing weirdness... let's move on to the actual content.

What the Audio Actually Contains

The first 15 minutes of the course has Gambler telling his story and the last 15 minutes is promoting the Rapid Success Mastery offer. That leaves 30 minutes of advice content in the middle.

Then he dives into 7 questions and one tip:

• 1. What is best to use - routines or natural game?
• 2. What should you do if you are approaching lots of 'sets' in bars but hardly any of them are hooking?
• 3. What am I not doing right if I'm staying in set for a long time but it never goes anywhere.
• 4. How is day game different from night game?
• 5. I don't feel comfortable in conversations. I've tried tried routines, but they don't work for me. What should I do?
• 6. When I use negging of cocky and funny approaches they don't seem to work for me. What am I doing wrong?
• 7. I've tried to use DHV stories but they don't really work for me, what should I do.

Value of the Content

The content covered in this audio program looks like it has been organized to illustrate how PUA Training's approach and methods differ to those of the incumbent companies like Love Systems, Venusian Arts, Real Social Dynamics etc.

The content is very similar to that contained in Gambler's book. Overall it's basic content, okay, but has nothing that stands out and it is a bit dated now.

Most of the advice is designed to address issues that people were coming up against after having been practicing pick up for a while and running into the same problems. Some of it is still valid and useful but overall this course has nothing to make it stand out or merit the time spent listening to it versus much better courses out there. There is also little to none that is original.

It also has to be said that in some parts Richard doesn't even explain the techniques he discusses as there isn't time to get into the details. For question 4 for example he talks about the importance of timing but doesn't explain what that means at all. That's not what you'd expect from a product of course - which goes back to the point that this is actually a teleconference repackaged 'badly' as a product as an afterthought.

The Bottomline

It's disappointing to see PUA Training market this as a product that it clearly isn't and with content that it doesn't have. It's pushing marketing too far - anyone who had bought this product based on the title or what the product is supposed to contain would not get their expectations met - and would be surprised to find that they are in fact listening to a fair amount of marketing.

If you're a beginner and you are buying this as part of the Master Pickup Artist University then it may be worth your time listening to the 30 minutes in the middle, but it's definitely not something worth buying in its own right. Give this one a miss.
